A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a remote Medical Science Liaison to establish relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals. Candidates should have an advanced degree in medical sciences and at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. The position requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive work style. Willingness to travel 50% or more is necessary.
Reporting to the Director Medical Science Liaison, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be responsible for aligning scientific expertise with organizational goals to support the commercialization and development of the Company's product portfolio. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a trusted scientific and clinical expert for Tonix products and pipeline assets in the assigned region. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), academic institutions and patient advocacy groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical research, HEOR, and medical communication, along with the ability to drive field medical strategy aligned with Tonix’s objectives. This role will be based remotely.
Essential Duties
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and healthcare providers (HCPs) to inform medical strategies. Conduct regular assessments of KOLs and emerging customers, ensuring the appropriate engagement of HCPs and decision-makers
Ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical and healthcare provider-focused manner
Implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other Tonix cross-functional colleagues for designated HCPs/KOLs, This includes organizing medical and scientific training sessions, conferences and symposiums in medical centers and during scientific congresses in the US
Contribute to an efficient organization of medical communication activities for the marketed drug
Execute and support department projects as directed by the Vice President, Medical Affairs
Report pharmacovigilance (PV), product quality (PQ), or medical information (MI) requests within 24 hours, per the Standard Operating Procedures for PV, PQ, and MI reporting
Ensure competitive and scientific intelligence is communicated to medical and leadership team
Providing clinical and value-based input into Tonix communications and materials, as directed Vice President, Medical Affairs
Partner with cross-functional teams to incorporate a medical perspective into commercial strategies and tactics, ensuring efficient, effective, and compliant communication by field forces
Maintain in-depth business and clinical knowledge of therapeutic area(s), including current treatment strategies, competitors, and emerging therapeutic developments
Support for clinical activities (as needed), investigator-initiated trials (IITs), and partnerships with key academic institutions to enhance collaboration and research efforts
Contribute to the development of slide decks and other presentation materials
Present data on products and therapeutic areas to internal and external stakeholders
Ensure the appropriate documentation of HCP interactions in the CRM and accurate responses to unsolicited medical requests
Take accountability for the field-based medical strategy, overseeing the training, deployment, direction, and execution of the MSL team’s goals and objectives.

Necessary Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the position will interface with key opinion leaders and a wide range of internal stakeholders
Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and deliver an excellent work product in a fast-paced, and rapidly growing dynamic company
Must have excellent external facing-service orientation, high degree of professionalism, and ability to work with limited direction
Proactive work style
Problem solver with excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly while working under tight deadlines
A valid unrestricted driver’s license
Educational and Experience Requirements
Advanced degree in medical sciences (MS, MD, PharmD, PhD or clinically equivalent appropriate experience e.g. APRN, PA, RPh)
At least 5 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, with demonstrated success in field-based roles (e.g., MSL) or related industry positions.
Product pre-launch and launch experience highly desirable
Background in neurology, fibromyalgia, and migraine is preferred
Strong time management, administrative, and organizational skills
Excellent data analysis skills and strong understanding of clinical databases
Proven ability to work effectively with internal and external decision-makers, manage expectations
Excellent communication skills, including diplomacy and the ability to blend scientific expertise with relationship-building
Ability to make timely decisions under pressure, even with incomplete information or tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement
Solid understanding of regulatory and industry standards applicable to Medical Affairs, including FDA, OIG, and PhRMA guidelines
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams within a dynamic organizational environment
Capacity to translate customer and internal client needs into actionable decisions
Willingness to travel 50% or more as needed
