The MSL is responsible for Medical Affairs in Germany for a treatment in Ophthalmology during the post-launch phase, with potential involvement in pre-launch activities for new products. The MSL collaborates closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Germany and aligns with the Brand Strategy. Responsibilities include organizing advisory boards at the national level, delivering abstracts at local congresses, and contributing to publications and presentations in partnership with KOLs. The MSL serves as the medical expert on product content, providing scientific education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and colleagues through presentations and training. Additionally, the MSL supplies medical content and briefs KOLs for congresses and works in close cooperation with Marketing & Sales to provide medical insights for marketing materials and projects, ensuring compliance with industry codes.
Major Tasks & Responsibilities (70% field):
- Implement the Medical strategy plan at the country level:
- Map disease experts and gather KOL insights on the product
- Support national networks within the therapeutic area
- Coordinate with Market Access to ensure product inclusion in guidelines
- Organize local advisory boards (content, objectives, speakers, attendees, contracts)
- Create local publications and congress posters aligned with the product strategy
- Act as the first medical contact at congresses and symposia
- Provide medical input, including slide decks and briefing KOLs for presentations
- Handle medical information requests and presentations to HCPs within the brand strategy
- Manage Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT): internal approval and contracting
- Approve contracts for external activities with HCPs
- Develop medical training materials and conduct training for commercial colleagues
- Provide medical and strategic input on marketing projects and materials
- Ensure compliance of all Medical and Marketing activities with pharmaceutical codes
Education & Qualifications:
- Academic degree in (bio)medical or scientific field
- Training in pharmaceutical compliance
- Skills in presentation and training
- At least five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum of two years in Medical Affairs
- Operational experience in pre-launch and launch activities
- Experience in Ophthalmology is preferred
