Job Overview

Healthcare Professionals are needed to provide medical services to supplement the medical staff in support of the Military Treatment Facilities and Health Clinics within the US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe, and for other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies including US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe.

Qualifications
  • Degree: Diploma
  • Education: High School or higher
  • Experience: Three years of cumulative overall experience in the following areas:
  1. Two years experience with U.S. Military Healthcare delivery system and benefits or civilian managed care medical/administrative environment and/or
  2. Two years of working experience in a medical office or clinical environment and
  3. One year of experience with the Composite Health Care System (CHCS)
  • Fluency in English
  • Fully qualified typist 50 WPM
  • General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, excellent communication, and customer service skills
  • General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Medical terminology desired
  • Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
    • Greets patients/visitors at a front desk, information center or office setting. Answers main office phone line. Directs telephone calls to appropriate section for assistance. Takes messages as required.
    • Arrange and schedule medical appointments and determine patient eligibility for services. Relay general instructions to patients, or make referrals to other sections.
    • Obtains updates and files medical records as needed. Organizes and researches patient records, extracts needed information, and reviews records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency within established guidelines.
    • Ensures arrival of medical records before appointment(s). Initiates and locates patient medical records as needed. Obtains documentation as requested by healthcare providers (test results, or documentation not yet filed in records).
    • Performs other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support. Creates appointment schedules and templates in the patient appointment computer system. Conducts end-of-day process at close of business and resolves any delinquent or pending appointments in a computer system.

    DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status

    This position is eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
