Reporting into the Senior Manager, Medical Education International for Sports Medicine and ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat), the Medical Education Manager is responsible for creating meaningful programs for the courses related with practicing surgeons, nurses, residents, fellows or other related Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) relative to key focus areas in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
In this position you will implement educational pathways and adapt the global content to the regional area you are responsible for. Therefore, you are collaborating with course faculty and you will make sure that we are offering educational experiences across the educational continuum featuring key products determined by our Marketing team. This role will work closely with the Marketing & Sales organization, communicating and reinforcing the enrollment of the appropriate HCPs based on selection criteria related to the HCPs experience and expertise.
This role may be asked to support from a program development perspective some of Europe’s regional programs at Smith+Nephew.
Location: Munich or Hamburg based would be preferred, but not a must
What will you be doing?
Work closely with HCP faculty and internal stakeholders, to implement high-quality programs at the S+N educational events that drive adoption in key focus areas of the business units
Establish program learning objectives, attendee profile and communicate these to the business organization and reinforce criteria during enrollment to lead to product adoption
Adapt content developed by S+N Global Content Development to the countries' needs, in terms of pre/post content, agenda, attendees profiles and others
Embrace new technologies available (Virtual Reality, Simulation, S+N Academy Online, others) to provide a blended learning journey
Select and maintain the relation with faculty
Responsible for faculty communication, invitation and development
Engage all information related to the course and the explanation behind the selection of the faculties, working in close contact with Professional Affairs in regards to the contractual situation of the faculties
Give on site support to the Medical Education courses, in partnership with the S+N Meeting Planner team
Translate the key commercial priorities of the assigned business to medical education needs and plan a medical education calendar & resources accordingly
Identify and engage with Key Opinion Leaders on current trends and needs in the industry
Identify opportunities for collaboration on education
What will you need to be successful?
Minimum of 3 years experience. in a similar role in Medical Education with a strong understanding of training processes and clinical knowledge
Relevant experience in the field of Medical Devices, preferably with Sports Medicine and/or ENT exposure, and a strong focus on education
High technical / clinical knowledge on the main arthroscopic shoulder, knee, hip / foot / ankle procedures
Ability to workcollaborative and effective in cross functional, international teams
Flexibility and adaptability managing multiple priorities
Very good communications skills with ability to adapt to different stakeholders (internally, externally)
Very good English and German language knowledge (written and spoken)
Willingness for business travels (approx. 30-40%)
Flexibility to work outside of usual office hours sometimes to support events in the evenings / at weekends
