Job Description:

As Medical Director for Germany, you will lead a team of highly talented medical affairs colleagues with scientific and clinical expertise in Germany and Southern Europe (Italy and Spain).

You will lead the team to execute critical medical functions, including developing strategic medical plans, managing key thought-leader relationships, publishing trial data, disseminating educational information, and supporting research initiatives outside labeled indications.

You will collaborate with the International Regions Medical Head to develop medical strategy and ensure consistency across activities.

You will ensure the successful development and execution of medical plans for Seqirus vaccine portfolio, supporting short- and long-term objectives.

You will partner with commercial teams to align strategies and communication.

You will serve as an influenza and vaccine expert, negotiating and influencing stakeholders, and leading a team across Central and Southern Europe with objectives to:

  • Provide strategic medical input for vaccines in the region
  • Engage with external experts, research partners, and public health stakeholders
  • Ensure medical governance and compliance

This role reports to the Head of Medical, International Region, and involves providing medical leadership for the Seqirus Vaccine Portfolio, with opportunities to collaborate in Austria and Switzerland.

Principal focus is in Germany, based in Munich, with line management of teams in Italy and Spain

Role and Responsibilities
External Network Development & Management
  • Lead the team to identify and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders in infectious disease, vaccinology, and antiviral therapies.
  • Maintain relationships with medical and public health experts, government officials, and advisory committees like STIKO.
  • Represent Seqirus at scientific and medical forums and manage advisory boards.
Strategy & Scientific Expertise
  • Develop and implement medical strategic plans for Central and Southern Europe.
  • Provide leadership for scientific communications, publications, and medical education activities.
  • Oversee Phase 4 studies, ensuring timely completion and regulatory interaction.
People Management
  • Manage and develop the medical team across the region, including hiring and training.
  • Provide leadership and motivation, ensuring compliance and budget management.
Background Education and Experience
  • Advanced medical degree with relevant experience, preferably in public health, vaccinology, or infectious diseases.
  • Minimum 10 years in medical affairs or healthcare, with a focus on Germany.
  • Proven ability to interact with KOLs and government bodies, and to lead diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of immunization programs and established networks of KOLs.
  • Fluent in German and English.
