This position is fully remote and will work a schedule of Monday-Friday, Days.

Position Summary:

Enters patient demographics and insurances into a proprietary database using company-specific software and requisitions completed by ordering customers. Verifies insurance eligibility and ensures accurate insurance assignment per company policy. Confirms diagnosis codes on requisitions are entered correctly. Troubleshoots errors that prevent billing.

Core Responsibilities:

• Enters data from requisitions and supporting documents
• Verifies and enters insurance information from requisitions or payer websites
• Uses appropriate dates of service in accordance with CMS policies
• Identifies missing billing information and assigns attention accordingly
• Follows written procedures to maintain data entry requirements
• Maintains a productivity rate with 95% accuracy
• If certified, performs coding on ICD-10 and CPT procedures
• Adheres to policies and reports needed updates
• Follows HIPAA regulations to protect data and maintain confidentiality
• If certified coder, reads and interprets medical terminology for diagnosis entry
• Contributes to team efforts and performs other duties as needed

Experience, Education, and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in medical billing, with proven skills in entering demographics and insurance data
• Ability to adapt to multiple software applications
• Knowledge of reimbursement, billing, and accounts receivable processes
• Strong computer skills, especially MS Office
• Team-oriented attitude with good work ethics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
