Media & Performance Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced Media & Performance Marketing Manager (m/f/d) to lead Changan’s media strategy and digital marketing efforts across Europe. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and PR at Changan Europe, this role will focus on establishing and driving both brand and performance marketing, with an initial emphasis on building brand awareness as we enter the European market. This is a unique opportunity to develop a best-in-class performance marketing framework in an industry that has yet to fully capitalize on its potential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the media agency selection process, pitch evaluations, and onboarding to establish a strong and collaborative partnership.
  • Set the media strategy and guidelines across Europe, ensuring consistent and effective execution in all markets.
  • Focus on building brand awareness as the key priority during the initial phases of the European launch.
  • Develop and oversee a centralized search and digital marketing framework that unifies and enhances performance marketing efforts across markets.
  • Evaluate and lay the foundation for an in-house AdTech stack and performance marketing unit, applying a strategic, hands-on approach to create a long-term competitive advantage.
  • Manage and steer external agencies to deliver innovative campaigns that align with both brand and performance objectives.
  • Establish and maintain Joint Business Partnerships (JBPs) with key media players to optimize media planning and secure unique benefits.
  • Work closely with local teams to provide direction and support, ensuring that market-specific needs are met while aligning with central strategies.
  • Build and implement a robust KPI framework to measure success, track campaign performance, and identify opportunities for scaling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, sales, and content, to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing strategies.
  • Stay ahead of trends in digital media, programmatic advertising, and emerging technologies to position Changan as a leader in innovative marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in media planning, performance marketing, or digital marketing.
  • Agency background is welcome, with a proven track record in delivering impactful media strategies and campaigns.
  • Non-automotive experience will be considered but candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the automotive industry and its dynamics.
  • Expertise in managing multi-market campaigns across Europe.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing ecosystems.
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing AdTech tools and setting up/ working with centralized performance marketing systems.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a data-driven approach to campaign optimization and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to building new processes from the ground up.
