How you'll contribute

1. Installing, assembling, and testing mechanical systems and equipment
2. Diagnosing mechanical issues and identifying faulty components
3. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
4. Using welding, machining, and fabrication techniques to manufacture parts
5. Performing rework, repairs, and maintenance with engineering design intent and in conformance to industry standards
6. Collaborating closely with engineers and other technicians
7. Working in a manufacturing environment to provide a view on the status of assembly as well as raising issues for nonconforming parts

Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverables

Months 0-3

1. Get familiar with our plants
2. Execute mechanical assemblies with clear procedures
3. Support by creating procedures to make assembly easier
4. Work with our MES system

Months 3-6

1. Make suggestions to improve testing methods
2. Review created procedures and raise issues that don't fit in reality
3. Support in the assembly and commissioning at customer sites
4. Become an expert in piping
5. Get familiar with welding frames and other steel products

Months 6-12

1. Weld stainless steel to required quality
2. Plan workload and provide stable estimations for task durations
3. Make suggestions on how mechanical processes can be optimized from an execution perspective
4. Become an expert in overall assembly

About you

1. Deep mechanical knowledge, such as training (Ausbildung) or comparable experience
2. Able to weld frames and similar components
3. One year or more of work experience as a technician
4. Experience in heavy mounting
5. Experience working with MES systems, ideally ION
6. Basic English skills

Noteworthy points

This role cannot be done remotely. We require someone who lives within commuting distance to Essen or is open to relocate, which we are happy to support.
