APTIM Federal Services, LLC is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance, repair, and construction for US Army Redstone Arsenal facilities. You will oversee HVAC systems, building infrastructure, and utility networks, coordinating with engineering teams and client representatives.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 6–10 years of relevant experience, plus clean driving record, CAC, and ability to obtain a PE license. On-site work with benefits package provided.

Job Overview

APTIM is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to perform maintenance repair and construction mechanical engineering support as outlined in ISS Contract for the United States Army Garrison Redstone (USAG-R) Department of Public Works (DPW) with our partner AKIMA. The Mechanical Engineer will provide support to buildings & structures, roads and grounds, equipment, and utility systems of Redstone Arsenal operations. This position will need to be technically proficient on various computer systems and Maintenance Connection experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Manage designs and orchestrate the planning, design, and phased scheduling of assigned projects.
• Coordinates and provides technical consultation with other engineering functions such as but not limited to, Electrical, Energy, Environmental, Civil, appropriate managers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
• Serve as mechanical design liaison with Director of Public Works, the Army Corps of Engineers, architect and engineering firms, and other design agencies providing advisory reviews/recommendations as required.
• Provide technical input to the Annual Work Plan process, including listing potential projects to be included.
• Provide Mechanical Engineering advisory services and developing criteria for equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration/construction job order requests.
• Use Maintenance Connection to assist with cataloging new equipment and to facilitate/track new and existing projects.
• Provide/Interpret operational drawings in support of maintenance personnel for issues related to dedicated buildings.
• Performs HVAC facility/systems assessments and prepares associated reports and/or project documentation as needed.
• Provide design and replacement recommendations for existing/new HVAC systems as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have 6-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering in related environment
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy)
• Obtain Common Access Card (CAC)
• Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background check to gain access to government facilities.
• Strong Computer Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CADD experience, AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or MicroStation.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Engineering in Training (EIT) candidates preferred.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in cold/hot/dusty/loud environments

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
