Optimus Search is seeking a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer (HV Battery Modules) in Baden-Württemberg to own mechanical development from concept to production for high‑voltage battery systems.

You will design housings, manage thermal performance, lead validation and collaborate with international teams. Relocation support is considered for the right candidate. Fluent English is required; German is not essential.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience developing industrial battery systems, energy storage products or comparable high-voltage technologies.
• Hands-on design experience across mechanical concepts, materials, thermal management and manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record taking products from concept and development through validation into production.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Development Engineer with a passion for high-voltage battery technology?

We're supporting an innovative engineering organisation in Baden-Württemberg that is developing next-generation HV battery systems for demanding industrial applications. This is an opportunity to take ownership of mechanical development activities from initial concept through to production within a highly international team.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop battery housings, module integration concepts and mechanical mounting solutions for HV battery systems.
• Develop thermal management, sealing, venting and safety concepts to ensure reliable battery performance.
• Lead mechanical validation, prototype development and industrialisation activities.
• Support testing, certification and compliance with relevant industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturing and external suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience developing industrial battery systems, energy storage products or comparable high-voltage technologies.
• Strong background in mechanical design, materials selection, thermal management and manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience taking products from concept and development through validation into production.
• Hands-on approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within international cross-functional teams.
• Automotive, battery systems or energy storage experience is highly desirable.
• Fluent English is sufficient—German language skills are not essential.
