As part of the AIT team, you will have the following responsibilities :
- Definition of MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment), including related tasks;
- Processing assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) tasks for space projects (satellites, payloads, subsystems);
- Coordination of mechanical AIT work on satellites in consultation with the AIT manager and other disciplines;
- Preparation and implementation of mechanical integrations of flight hardware on satellites, along with documentation of work results;
- Development of concepts for mechanical AIT and MGSE, and creation of planning documents;
- Practical implementation of external and internal requirements for mechanical AIT, MGSE, and thermal hardware;
- Supporting subcontractors for MGSE, thermal hardware, and test equipment;
- Creating integration and test procedures, reports, and evaluating test results;
- Procurement of MGSE for satellite projects;
- Drafting specifications, supporting tender processes, and overseeing subcontractors through delivery and acceptance;
- Participating in the development of MGSE according to PRC process and finalizing the admission test (Proof Load Test) for CE certification;
- Specification and acceptance testing of thermal hardware and test equipment;
- Updating generic MGSE and thermal hardware specifications based on project requirements;
- Participating in test and launch campaigns, with willingness for extended stays abroad;
- Participating in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) to identify causes of errors and find solutions;
- Collaborating with other Airbus locations and European subcontractors.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications and relevant experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
- Proficiency in MS Office; special skills in Windchill, CAD software (CATIA), SAP, and MS Project are desirable;
- Technical understanding of mechanisms and system elements of satellites and space probes;
- Driving license and safe handling of cranes and aerial work platforms are desirable;
- Experience in high-quality mechanical integration, preferably with space components;
- Knowledge of manufacturing and integration standards in aerospace;
- Understanding of electrical components and measurement technology (mechanical/electrical) is desirable;
- Assertiveness, independence, structured working style, teamwork, and high-quality standards;
- Willingness to travel for business and work shifts;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; German language skills are advantageous.
