Jobbeschreibung

The Institute of Future Fuels researches processes that enable the production of fuels and chemical base materials using renewable energy sources and resources. The focus is on the utilisation of solar heat and electricity as well as sustainable process management.

What To Expect

In the Department of Solar Chemical Process Development, we research innovative materials, processes and reactors that make it possible to produce critical chemical raw materials such as hydrogen, ammonia or lime using renewable energies. We develop sustainable concepts for the storage and provision of process heat and for the utilisation of renewable heat in recycling processes. An important part of our work is researching and testing new materials, processes and technologies on a laboratory and pilot scale. To this end, we utilise a modern infrastructure of laboratories and large-scale facilities. The experimental validation of physical and chemical properties of the developed materials using analytical methods is of central importance. Become part of our multinational, interdisciplinary research team, carry out experiments independently and as part of a team and evaluate the data obtained in order to optimise the processes and materials used.

Your tasks

  • production of high-performance ceramics using wet-chemical and solid-state chemical processes
  • further development and optimisation of innovative shaping processes for ceramic structures
  • realisation and implementation of analysis methods for ceramic solids
  • planning, construction and application of material-analytical test and test benches

Your profile

  • completed university degree (bachelor) in materials science, materials engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable discipline
  • knowledge and application experience in the field of solid-state analysis or with chemical reactors and heat exchangers
  • practical experience of working in chemical laboratories
  • experience in testing and inspection of ceramic and/or metallic materials or in the field of thermal analysis (TGA, DSC)
  • ability to work independently and in a team, interdisciplinary collaboration, commitment and willingness to learn
  • very good verbal and written communication skills in German or English
  • commitment and willingness to learn as well as a communicative and team-orientated manner

Remuneration will be paid up to pay group 11 TVöD depending on qualifications and tasks assigned.

We look forward to getting to know you!
