This position is part of Novanta’s Advanced Surgery business unit; specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine. Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is a major advancement in medical technology that uses small incisions and specialized tools with cameras, instead of traditional open surgery. This technique significantly improves patient recovery due to smaller wounds. To ensure clear visibility and access during surgery, the body cavity is inflated using pumps (with saline) or insufflators (with CO₂), raising the internal pressure above ambient levels. Modern devices use Intelligent Pressure Monitoring (IPM) to precisely control this pressure. A key component of IPM is a calibration algorithm that adapts to the surgical setup.
