Job Description:

As one of 76 institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, we focus on transforming research into future solutions, emphasizing sustainability and innovation in energy, environment, safety, health, communication, and mobility.

We are committed to addressing global challenges such as sustainable food supply and resource-efficient production, aligning with SDG2 / Bioeconomy Goal 12. Our research involves developing methods to extract valuable ingredients from fruit and vegetable by-products, reducing antinutrients, and utilizing remaining biomass.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature research on extraction processes, industrial extraction of plant juices, precipitation methods, and purification processes.
  • Develop extraction processes (pressing, centrifuging, precipitation, filtration, membrane processes, adsorption).
  • Perform experiments on biomass utilization.
  • Carry out analyses (e.g., Kjeldahl, SDS-PAGE, TS, saponins).
  • Evaluate data statistically and position findings within current research.
Qualifications:
  • Studies in natural sciences or engineering, preferably related to food or biotechnology.
  • Interest in chemistry and analytical processes.
  • Ability to work independently in laboratory and technical settings.
  • Good knowledge of English is advantageous.
