Job Description

Islanding detection refers to methods used to identify when a portion of the electrical grid becomes disconnected from the main grid and is powered solely by local generators.

  • During your thesis you will identify and analyze state of the art islanding detection methods in terms of strength and weakness.
  • For identification you will carry out literature research and gather company internal know-how. Furthermore, simulations in Matlab Simulink may assist the analysis.
  • As outcome of the thesis, you will suggest a preferred islanding detection method suitable for vehicle to grid applications.
Qualifications
  • Education: Masterstudies in the field of Electrical Engineering or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: in electronics, electrical circuits
  • Personality and Working Practice: you excel at working independently, approaching new ideas with an open mind, and engaging sociably with others
  • Languages: fluent in German and/or English
Additional Information

Start: September 2025
Duration: 6 months
