At Skolon, you can truly make a difference by helping to create a more enjoyable and successful learning experience for hundreds of thousands of students and teachers. About The Role
We are looking for a proactive Marketing Specialist to help us grow the
German market and share our vision and solutions with school leaders across Germany.
You will work closely with our Sales & Business Development colleague in Germany, as well as our Marketing Director and international marketing team based in Sweden and the UK. We’re planning to establish our presence in the
Düsseldorf and Rhine-Main region, but for the right candidate, we’re open to flexibility in location.
You will be responsible for implementing marketing activities and creating content, adapting global campaigns for the German market, and contributing with local insights and ideas. We expect you to be proactive and take ownership of your tasks - and support broader activities needed for Skolon’s successful local establishment.
This is a new role in a new market for Skolon, which means flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential. You will need to be comfortable stepping outside your defined responsibilities, supporting where it’s most needed - whether within marketing or beyond.
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, works hands-on, and thrives in a dynamic environment where collaboration and practical problem-solving are key.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Implement marketing activities and campaigns for the German market in collaboration with our Marketing Director and central team.
- Adapt global content to German market needs and produce local marketing materials for various digital channels (social media, website, newsletters, etc.).
- Support lead generation campaigns and sales locally – for example by talking to customers, setting up meetings, and helping the sales team follow up.
- You will be actively involved in organising and attending local events, webinars, and trade fairs (e.g. Didacta), in close collaboration with your Sales colleague and the marketing team. Some travel will be required as part of this role.
- Provide local insights and ideas to help tailor campaigns and communications for the German audience.
- Support wider activities to ensure Skolon’s successful local establishment.
Your profile
- 2+ years of relevant marketing experience and a related degree - or strong practical experience in the field.
- Strong hands-on skills with common tools: social media including paid ads (e.g. LinkedIn and Meta), Wordpress, Canva, Hubspot.
- Confident content creator across formats - including blogs, newsletters, social media, and printed materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in German and English are required.
- A proactive, can-do attitude - you take ownership of your tasks and contribute actively to team success.
- Experience from a start-up or fast-growing company - or a mindset that reflects it - is highly valued. You’re used to working cross-functionally, stepping in where needed, and finding solutions beyond your defined responsibilities.
- Interest in EdTech, SaaS, digitalization and/or education is a plus.
What We Offer You
- Attractive fixed salary to be agreed upon ("nach Vereinbarung").
- Generous vacation package with paid Public Holidays.
- Flexible hybrid/remote working model.
- Contributions to company pension plan.
- Stability of a publicly listed company combined with the agility of a fast-growing international team.
- Supportive colleagues and fun team events.
Application process
If this sounds like you - we look forward to your application!
- Please submit your application in English, as this is our company language.
- We would also appreciate it if you could attach examples of your previous marketing/communication work to give us a sense of your expertise.
- We are accepting applications throughout the summer and will carefully review all submissions as the deadline approaches. You can expect to hear from us in early August - thank you for your interest and patience!
