About the Role:
As our Marketing Manager, you will support the execution of performance-driven marketing strategies to drive growth and customer loyalty with a particular emphasis on our affiliate and influencer channels, brand collaborations, and content curation. This role reports to our VP of Marketing and is based in San Francisco (we are in-office twice a week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the VP of Marketing and Ecommerce in the execution of integrated DTC marketing campaigns for new product launches, seasonal moments, and brand storytelling.
- Own and manage our creator network to deliver weekly assets for paid and owned channels.
- Own and optimize performance across brand ambassadors, brand collaborations, influencers, and events.
- Analyze performance to inform data-backed decisions and improve ROI.
- Stay informed on pet industry trends, DTC marketing, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities.
Content Curation:
- Own our content creator network to generate high-quality, versatile creative for use in paid ads, website, social, and emails.
- Responsible for sourcing, briefing, and onboarding of photographers and UGC creators. Review and provide feedback on the content, ensuring alignment with our brand requirements.
- Oversee budget tracking and payments related to content production and vendor partnerships.
- Our goal is to produce 8 assets per week with a mix of UGC, designed assets and videos.
Influencer Marketing:
- Identify, connect with, and cultivate relationships with promising influencers who are engaged dog parents and are aligned with our brand values, aesthetic and marketing goals.
- Own influencer outreach & communications, including initial pitches, contracts, and support requests as well as the influencer gifting process.
- Monitor participating influencers’ accounts to ensure timely follow through and accurate tagging of the brand.
- Track campaign performance, monitor budgets, and manage payments to partners.
Brand Collaborations & Events:
- Support brand collaboration efforts in partnership with the VP of Marketing, including project management, cross-functional coordination, and briefing support.
- Manage execution of brand events, from planning and logistics to post-event follow-up and measurement.
- Events may include influencer meet-ups, The Foggy Dog-hosted events, brand partnerships and more.
Affiliate & Ambassador Programs:
- Manage our popular Brand Ambassador program with the goal of engaging and growing our community of 500+ loyal ambassador pups.
- Creatively engage with our ambassador community including: focus groups, gifting, product testing, our monthly newsletter, sponsored photo shoots, ambassador-only social channels, fun monthly challenges, etc.
- Execute monthly brand ambassador commission payments and monitor coupon code usage to maintain program accuracy and performance.
- Support ShareASale affiliate opportunities, including partner recruitment and performance monitoring.
Team Leadership:
- This role will oversee and directly manage the Social Media Manager, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and day-to-day support to ensure social efforts align with and amplify broader marketing objectives.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of marketing experience with a strong focus on direct-to-consumer (DTC) strategy and execution.
- Proven track record of managing successful campaigns across influencer/affiliate marketing, events, and brand collaborations.
- Experience using Shopify, Refersion, ShareASsale and other marketing tech platforms.
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for brand and design, and the ability to collaborate with brand and influencer partners.
- Analytical mindset with experience reporting on KPIs and using insights to optimize performance.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Previous management experience.
- Passion for pets and mission-driven brands.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the pet, lifestyle, or giftable goods space.
- Background in eCommerce.
- Prior experience at a fast-growing or digitally native brand.

About You:
- BA/BS degree required; additional certifications in marketing, analytics or ecommerce a plus.
- 5–8 years of experience in marketing with a strong foundation in both brand and performance marketing.
- Proven experience supporting or managing key aspects of a high-growth ecommerce business.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify, Google Analytics, influencer, event planning and partnership management.
- Skilled in creating and presenting marketing plans, managing timelines, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive initiatives forward.
- A collaborative team player who values communication, constructive feedback, and shared success.
- Comfortable using data to inform decision-making and eager to dig into reporting and analytics to drive performance.
- Detail-oriented and organized—you know the small things make a big difference in marketing execution.
- Deeply customer-focused and always looking for ways to elevate the brand experience based on insights and feedback.
- Solution-oriented and resourceful, with a mindset that embraces change and continuous improvement.
- Positive, proactive, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
