The Organization

For a leading European technical wholesaler serving a broad range of industries, we are looking for a Managing Director to lead 14 international, independent branches and drive the company's ambition to double its business in the coming years.

The Role

The Managing Director will hold full P&L responsibility and lead a decentralized and entrepreneurial organization on its path to growth, professionalization, and market leadership. Key priorities include driving commercial excellence, strengthening local leadership teams, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a high-performance culture. The role will focus on accelerating growth, enhancing margins, developing customer relationships, integrating acquisitions, and simplifying operations—in close collaboration with the Branch Directors. This is a remote position (home office), requiring regular travel to the branches. The Managing Director will report directly to the Group CEO, based in the UK.

The Ideal Candidate

Background and Experience:

• 5+ years of senior management experience with full P&L responsibility in a B2B technical environment.
• Experience in distribution and wholesale is essential; familiarity with semi-finished products is a strong plus
• Proven success in turnaround, growth, and professionalization of multi-site organizations.
• Strong commercial track record in customer development, margin improvement, and segment-driven growth (industry, construction, signage).
• Familiarity with KPI-driven management and financial performance metrics.
• M&A integration experience is a strong advantage.
• International mindset, used to operating in decentralized entrepreneurial structures.
• Fluency in English and German.
