About the Role:

As Managing Director, you will take full operational ownership of a stable and profitable tech venture. You’ll step into a high-trust, hands-on leadership role, working closely with the founder during a structured handover. With a strong product, a capable team, and a healthy balance sheet in place, your mission is to professionalise internal operations, strengthen commercial outcomes, and drive long-term growth. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily operations across all departments, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.

  • Oversee and professionalise internal systems, financial reporting, and communications to support scalability and due diligence readiness.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for investors, providing transparent updates and structured insights.

  • Manage and develop a cross-functional team including engineering, business development, and marketing talent.

  • Take ownership of the product roadmap over time, working initially alongside the founder to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

  • Optimise existing revenue channels, particularly affiliate and advertising partnerships, while exploring new commercial opportunities.

  • Coordinate marketing initiatives with external partners and freelancers to support brand and growth goals.

  • Develop and execute strategies for geographic and market expansion.

Requirements:
  • Online marketing skills/ growth marketing background preferred
  • Financially literate with strong forecasting and data analysis capabilities.
  • Previous experience managing small teams in cross-functional roles.
  • Deep understanding of early-stage or lean startup environments—especially in consumer tech, affiliate, or marketplace models.
  • Based in Germany or willing to maintain a frequent and visible presence on-site in Berlin.
  • Strategic yet operationally hands-on—able to build systems while also executing them.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with investors, boards, and executive stakeholders.
  • Confident working with technology and product teams; able to engage meaningfully on roadmaps and features.
  • Self-motivated, structured, and pragmatic—comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
