We are seeking a Managing Consultant to join our growing Corporate Sustainability team.

Our consultants work within client project teams with responsibilities including project delivery, business development, and client management. We have consultants working at all levels with our clients and have a focus on developing our people to take on more senior roles as they grow their skills, knowledge and experience.

You will have a key role developing and delivering our work across our service areas, including: responsible raw materials sourcing strategy and systems, ethical and sustainable procurement practices, human rights and environmental due diligence risk assessments for mineral supply chains and supplier engagement and risk management approaches. Client focus, curiosity, strong analytical and communication skills, and good time management are essential for all our roles.
The role will be based in our Berlin office with the opportunity for hybrid working, however could, occasionally, involve international travel.

The role

  • Managing and delivering multiple projects (including team management), including developing comprehensive project plans and ensuring milestones and action items are met within agreed timelines
  • Understanding and interpreting client needs, clearly communicating client goals to internal and external stakeholders and growing client relationships
  • Developing key client relationships, including identifying opportunities for project extensions
  • Developing and delivering proposals, generating business
  • Identifying potential new clients
  • Researching, preparing and delivering client content
  • Sharing expertise and knowledge across the team including acting as a mentor
  • Maintaining the project invoicing schedule, monitoring project budgets and financial performance
  • Contributing to thought leadership through research, drafting articles and blogs
  • Participating in internal and external events as a speaker
  • Keeping abreast of ESG landscape regulatory requirements and best practices

About you

For all our roles we are looking for:

  • Fluent in English & German; working proficiency in one or more of Russian, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish, is desirable
  • Demonstrable business and consulting, and/or other relevant experience including proven knowledge and experience in CSR / sustainability at a level commensurate with the level of the job.
  • Knowledge and understanding of responsible raw materials sourcing and supply chain sustainability issues
  • Curious and unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom
  • Business and client focused
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients
  • Excellent writing skills in English
