For our German sites in Bayreuth we are looking for a
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Manage and supervise the development center for PP Compounds at Bayreuth (Germany) with test- and processing labs
- Development and technical support for the product group PP Compounds to support and strengthen the related business segment
- Responsible for operating the development center within the KPIs especially HSE, quality (IATF 16949 certification) and time frames for samples as well as costs within the target range
- Support production sites Bayreuth (D) and Milton Keynes (UK) and product transfers to other regions
- Support the shared quality and mechanical testing laboratory which supplies service to production and TC
- Effectively manage and drive product and application development projects for PP Compounds mainly for segment Automotive in accordance with business strategy
- Provide innovative solutions and improve existing PP Compound portfolio in quality and cost, by approval of new raw materials
- Interface with other development and research centers within LyondellBasell and external service providers
Qualifications
- High school / university graduation in scientific areas; PhD in polymer science or polymer engineering preferred
- Knowledge and expertise of polymer structure / property, processing technologies, application industries
- Knowledge in polypropylene and PP compound formulations and raw materials (stabilizers, fillers, impact modifiers, pigments)
- Understanding of market trends, customer / end user needs and how to translate those into products / technologies to be developed especially for automotive segment
- Experience in inter-functional projects and resource management
- Experience in polymer testing
- Experience in managing larger teams
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP
- Willingness to travel
- At least 10 years of experience in compounding or polymer industry
- German and English language skills mandatory
