Product Support Manager EMEA (f/m/d) Mainz, Germany

Europe is a key growth market for us, leading to a rapidly expanding local team. To support this growth, Edmund Optics GmbH is seeking a Product Support Manager EMEA (f/m/d).

The Product Support Manager EMEA is responsible for managing the Product Support Team (Sales & Applications Engineers), aiming to maximize service quality for customers regarding products and applications. Responsibilities include team structuring, daily management, and increasing regional customer satisfaction for technical and applications support activities.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage and develop the Product Support Team to ensure customer satisfaction, revenue growth, high productivity, and accountability.
  2. Efficiently schedule Sales & Applications Engineers to provide adequate phone, email, and chat coverage.
  3. Assist the team with complex technical inquiries, involving Solutions Engineers or Regional Sales Managers for significant opportunities.
  4. Work on continuous improvement of sales processes and customer experience, developing and executing long-term strategies.
  5. Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  6. Participate in tradeshows and conferences.
  7. Interface with marketing to gather customer feedback and identify support needs to enhance service leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or hard sciences.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in technical sales and/or product support.
  • Knowledge of optical engineering and physics concepts; industry experience preferred.
  • Understanding of company products, applications, and sourcing options.
  • Knowledge of sales and support processes.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and build effective, diverse teams.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set goals and execute plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for tradeshows and site visits.
