Job summary

Heraeus is seeking a Manager (m/f/d) Product Development Power Module Materials in Germany to lead a team of 10–15 scientists, engineers and laboratory technicians working on materials for power electronics, including sinter and solder pastes.

You will plan resources, manage performance, and coordinate with project managers to align priorities while maintaining budgets and a strong safety culture. Fluency in English is required; German is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry or materials science; PhD is an advantage.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in technical or R&D settings.
• 5+ years in electronic materials with materials science/chemistry knowledge.
• Knowledge of electronics industry customer requirements.
• PM qualification (IPMA or PMP) is an advantage.
• Strong communication and teamwork across functions.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Careful, methodical approach and strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to document results and prepare concise reports.

AsManager (m/f/d) Product Development Power Module Materials, you will lead and develop a team of 10-15 scientists, engineers and laboratory technicians working on materials and products for power electronics, particularly sinter and solder pastes.

Your primary responsibility is to build a capable, engaged team and create the conditions for successful product development. You will lead the team members' day-to-day development, manage performance and plan team resources. Development projects are led by project managers outside your reporting line; you will work closely with them to align priorities, expertise and team capacity.

• In your role as "Manager (m/f/d) Product Development Power Module Materials" you manage and develope the team, including setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth and fostering collaboration.
• You plan and allocate team resources in coordination with project managers and relevant stakeholders.
• In addition, you manage team performance and support employees in achieving their objectives.
• You prepare and monitor cost-center budgets.
• Moreover, you promotea strong safety culture and ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies.
• You prepare technical reports and presentations, and present and discussfindings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Youprovide technical and organizational input to stakeholders planning and execute projects in your area of responsibility, while project managers retain project leadership.
• Furthermore, you maintane relationships with equipment manufacturers relevant to your area of responsibility.

Your Profile:

• A degree in chemistry, materials science or a related discipline; a PhD is an advantage
• Extensive professional experience (+10 years) in people leadership, ideally in a technical or research-and-development environment
• Several years of experience (+5 years) with electronic materials, together with sound knowledge of materials science and/or chemistry
• Knowledge of customer-specific requirements in the electronics industry
• A recognized project-management qualification, such as IPMA or PMP, is an advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across functions
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage
• A careful, methodical approach to work and a strong sense of responsibility
• The ability to document technical results clearly and prepare concise, well-structured reports
