ResponsibilitiesCore Financial Tech Stack & Architecture

  • System Integrity and Scalability: ensure all critical financial interfaces—billing, payouts, revenue recognition, tax, and compliance—are robust, fully automated, and designed for international scale.
  • Own the Finance and Technology Program Success: lead larger complex programs and design the implementation and management of the full finance technology stack.
  • System Ownership: act as process owner for all system interfaces between Finance, Engineering, and Operations.

Operational Accounting, Risk & Process Optimization

  • Financial Reporting: ensure the production of efficient and accurate financial data, communicating this effectively to various stakeholders, including the board, team, tax administrations, and regulators.
  • Documentation & Standards: develop comprehensive process documentation and guidelines, setting the standard for operational excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: engage in international, cross-functional projects, bringing your accounting expertise to diverse teams to ensure process and data accuracy.

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Regulatory Adherence: collaborate closely with Legal & Compliance to monitor, understand, and ensure adherence to all relevant financial and regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Risk System Implementation: embed core risk management processes directly into platform operations, including chargeback monitoring, tax handling, and transaction monitoring.
  • Compliance Automation: implement AI-driven engines to automatically monitor transactions, flag suspicious activity for AML/KYC, and generate automated compliance reports.

Stakeholder Management

  • Operational Accounting Leadership: lead the change in optimizing operational accounting processes, with a sharp eye on risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Financial Visibility: provide clear, data-driven visibility on the status of projects as the implementation requirements in the platform / financial system to the CFO and executive team.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Banking, SaaS, fintech, or transactional platforms with complex finance and compliance needs.
  • Proven hands-on leadership in finance systems, ERP (e.g., Netsuite, Datev), operational accounting, payments architecture, or finance-tech operations.
  • Strong practical understanding of Merchant-of-Record environments and complex SaaS subscription models.
  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of key tools: PSPs (Stripe, Adyen, PayPal), ERP/finance tools, and international VAT/tax handling at scale.
  • Strong communicator, able to translate strategic financial priorities into clear system requirements and execution plans for engineering and operations teams.
  • A mindset focused on stability, automation, process excellence, and risk mitigation as the foundation for growth.
