Responsibilities include:

  1. Analytical Development: Develop and validate methods for product characterization (rheology, crystal morphology, impurity profiling, etc.), define critical quality attributes for new ingredients.
  2. Data Science & Modeling: Build predictive models linking molecular structures with functional performance, apply multivariate analyses, DoE, and real-time data pipelines.
  3. Leadership & Standardization: Lead a small team of scientists and assistants, standardize analytical SOPs and QA/QC metrics across sites.
  4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ensure method transfer to QC and MSAT teams, liaise with external labs and customers for analysis support and problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in analytical method development and/or data science in R&D environment.
  • Experience with analytical instruments (rheometer, laser diffraction, XRD, GC-MS/LC-MS) and statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Python, R).
  • Experience in DoE and modeling complex systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration ability.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a plus.
