Zusammenfassung

Partner Organization is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to build and deepen relationships with philanthropic supporters, managing a portfolio from qualification to stewardship. The role targets five- to six-figure gifts and requires sophisticated moves management, donor communications, and cross-team collaboration.

The position is fully remote in the United States, with responsibilities spanning donor meetings, tailored proposals, and data-driven revenue forecasting.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's degree and/or at least five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, preferably involving international or mission-driven issues.
  • Demonstrated success managing a major-gift portfolio and identifying, cultivating, soliciting, renewing, and stewarding significant donors.
  • Proven ability to close high five-figure gifts and experience closing or substantially contributing to low six-figure gifts.
  • Strong understanding of the full donor lifecycle, moves management, portfolio strategy, and donor engagement.

  • Develop compelling pitches, proposals, reports, grant applications, correspondence, briefings, and stewardship materials tailored to individual donor interests.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, opportunities, next actions, stages, and forecasts in Salesforce or a comparable fundraising CRM.
  • Use CRM data to support segmentation, portfolio analysis, donor progression, revenue forecasting, and moves-management planning.
  • Partner with philanthropy leadership, Individual Giving, prospect research, and other teams to identify and qualify emerging major-gift prospects.
  • Review donor data to identify major-gift, family-foundation, donor-advised fund, planned-giving, and leadership-level opportunities.
  • Help transition donors into Major Gifts and encourage established supporters to increase their level of investment.
  • Identify pipeline gaps, stalled relationships, and emerging opportunities, recommending practical next steps to advance donor engagement and revenue.
  • Coordinate programmatic, financial, and impact information with internal teams to create compelling donor opportunities and communications.
  • Represent the organization in donor meetings, cultivation events, and other engagement activities while maintaining strong ethical and professional standards.
  • Contribute to fundraising operations and process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen donor experiences, and support broader philanthropy strategy.
  • Bring insights from donor conversations and portfolio activity into revenue planning, forecasting, and cross-functional fundraising initiatives.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Major Gifts Officer based in United States.

The Major Gifts Officer will build and deepen relationships with philanthropic supporters whose giving can create meaningful, long-term impact.

This frontline fundraising role will manage a portfolio of current, prospective, and lapsed donors, with a focus on gifts beginning at $5,000.

You will guide donors through the full relationship lifecycle, from qualification and cultivation to solicitation, renewal, and stewardship.

The role combines strategic relationship management, compelling storytelling, thoughtful gift asks, and disciplined moves management.

You will work closely with philanthropy, communications, programs, finance, and prospect research colleagues to develop tailored opportunities and strengthen revenue.

Success will depend on your ability to secure high five-figure and low six-figure commitments while delivering an exceptional donor experience.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a collaborative, mission-driven fundraiser who is motivated by measurable results and meaningful social impact.

  • Strong oral, written, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and authentically with donors.
  • Advanced experience using Salesforce or a comparable fundraising CRM, including maintaining accurate records and leveraging data for portfolio management.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Experience developing donor communications, proposals, grant applications, reports, briefings, and stewardship materials.
  • Experience using AI thoughtfully for research, communications, analysis, and workflow improvement while applying sound judgment and maintaining human oversight.
  • Excellent attention to detail, curiosity, humility, sound judgment, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small or growing fundraising team and contribute across the broader philanthropy revenue function.
  • Experience in international development, global health, or another mission-driven organization is preferred.
  • Experience with donor-advised funds, family foundations, planned giving, complex gifts, or executive and board-level donor engagement is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, including occasional evening or weekend commitments.
