Responsibilities
Work just 15 days a month with a rotating schedule!
(Bi-weekly schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday, Saturday & Sunday, then the schedule repeats)
- Participates in changeovers, machine PM, and repairs
- Spends 95% of time on the floor with the machines
- Understands and can relate the current status of all production machines on the floor
- Works closely with shift supervisor to maintain machines in a safe, efficient, and quality process
- Spends the first 15 minutes of shift in a turnover meeting with the previous shift Maintenance Technician
- Before departing, the shift Maintenance Tech will enter appropriate information in the maintenance log or other designated place
- Basic electrical troubleshooting of machinery and ability to read an electrical print
- Ability to identify relief valves
- Experience replacing heater bands, heat relays, and troubleshooting heat zones
- Working knowledge of servicing hydraulics and replacing hydraulic pumps
- Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems
- Basic electrical troubleshooting of machinery
- Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established GMP and SQF compliance requirements
- Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency
- Maintain security, including control of door access and preventing unauthorized entry
- Participate in GMP and SQF practices
- Assist in preventing nonconforming product shipment
- Identify and record problems related to product, process, and quality systems
- Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities
- Recommend and implement solutions through designated channels
- Suggest actions for continual improvement and verify their implementation
Qualifications
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out requirements
- Nissei, AOKI, Uniloy, SIPA experience, or experience with resin and blending systems is a plus
- Prior certification on a forklift
- Experience with resin and blending systems strongly preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- High School diploma or equivalent
