Job Description:
- Supervise and assist area technicians with breakdowns or other issues.
- Manage work orders, repairs, rebuilds, or other tasks for technicians or maintenance support.
- Respond to safety issues or emergencies in the plant.
- Manage timesheets, time off, and attendance in Kronos for direct deposits.
- Perform supervisor duties.
- Communicate with production management regarding maintenance-related issues and other items.
- Support technician troubleshooting of problems and breakdowns on production equipment, ensuring proper repairs. Drive escalation when necessary.
Repairs and troubleshooting include, but are not limited to:
- Electrical
- PLC / Controls System
- Mechanical
- Hydraulic
- Pneumatic
- Plumbing / Building
- Communicate with production operators and supervisors about machine problems and take necessary actions.
- Understand computer navigation and be proficient in Word, Text, Excel, and file handling.
- Learn MP2 (maintenance management system) for navigation, inventory, work orders, and on-site requests.
- Communicate with team members via written pass downs at shift changes.
- Follow all safety policies and practices, including LOTO and confined space procedures.
- Become arc flash certified through VT's LMS and TPC training programs.
- Complete self-study coursework to reach the top of the specialist level.
- Participate in daily team meetings.
- Proficient in the use of shop equipment, hand tools, and electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and PLC issues.
- Be willing to work overtime or adjust hours as needed for projects, work orders, or breakdowns.
- Assist in other areas when help is needed.
