An exciting opportunity has become available on the Force’s capability transition program for an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance and Logistics Specialist with a background of expertise and in depth-knowledge of aircraft maintenance and logistics in an EASA 145 or similar environment.

This vacancy notice is for a NATO-2030 agenda project-linked NATO International Civilian (PLN) post. This post is limited to a three-year definite duration project. It will be filled as soon as possible. In view of the urgency of this project, qualified candidates who hold or have recently held a valid NATO or National security clearance will be given priority consideration.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance and Logistics Specialist to join our team at the NATO Early Warning and Control Force in Geilenkirchen, Germany.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing maintenance plans and deliverables that will meet the European Aviation Military Requirements (EMAR);
  • Provides support to all project phases and acts as primary NAEW&CF contact for maintenance and logistic project activities;
  • Oversees all phases of projects from inception through completion;
  • Provides planning support to external stakeholders associated with aircraft maintenance and logistics;
  • Assists with development of aircraft maintenance training concept;
  • Coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project and team, planning, scheduling and line management;
  • Uses trend, earned value and variance analyses and risk assessments to develop plans or to recommend change;
  • Uses Project Management Best Practices to develop robust operating and reporting rhythm to ensure a successful outcome;
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives;
  • Manages via project deliverables, all technical and functional staff assigned to the project;
  • Performs project close-out and documents lessons learned activities as necessary;
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Identifies and manages active opportunities, risks and issues to ensure effective resolution or mitigation, and coordinate required activities to ensure successful delivery;
  • Determines and assesses needs for additional staff and/or consultants;
  • Sets and continuously manages the project to meet stakeholders’ expectations;
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A strong background and an in-depth knowledge of logistics and aircraft maintenance within EASA/EMAR environment;
  • Previous Maintenance Controller / Planner experience in an aircraft maintenance environment, or similar role;
  • Familiarity with maintenance and logistics planning requirements, including maintenance and logistics planning software programs;
  • Skilled to develop and implement new policies, and maintenance and logistics programs that will enhance maintenance and logistic operations;
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel and Project);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience in Maintenance Requirements Determination or military aircraft and logistics are desirable.

CONTRACT

The successful candidate will fill this post as a Project Related NATO International Civilian (PLN) with a three-year definite duration contract (if not seconded).

For serving NATO international Civilians: contract will be offered in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations and the additional Nations’ guidance (MCM-0061-2023 for NATO 2030 Project Linked NICs). The selected staff member will get a definite duration contract regardless of the current contract, with the exception of the case when they have more than 10 years of service, in which case they will receive an indefinite duration contract.

SALARY

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
