Following content displays map of jobs location. Telford. Working Hours: 37 Location: Telford Closing Date: 14/09/2026 Job Type: Sector: Local Councils Business Unit: Education & Skills Job Introduction Post: Maingrade Educational Psychologist 37 hours per week Soulbury A (5-10) plus 3 SPAs (permanent contract) In the context of exciting developments around our innovative Experts at Hand offer, we are delighted to be recruiting three Maingrade Educational Psychologists to join Telford & Wrekin's dynamic, friendly and supportive team. Our locality based collaborative service delivery model is increasingly recognised as leading-edge practice, attracting interest from colleagues and services beyond the local authority, and placing Educational Psychology at the heart of systemic support for children, young people, families and schools. Successful candidates will be joining a creative and highly skilled team that is highly valued by schools, families and strategic partners across the borough. Educational Psychologists work alongside schools and wider services to provide accessible consultation, early intervention, workforce development and systems change. We are proud that our approach is increasingly viewed as an exemplar of how Educational Psychology can contribute strategically to inclusion, belonging and improved outcomes for children and young people. Our team operates within the framework of a consultation model with an emphasis on solution-focused, person-centred and strengths-based practice. Alongside our well-established consultation model, we continue to extend Educational Psychology into community settings through strong partnerships with Health, Social Care and the voluntary sector. Our award-winning collaboration with Parents Opening Doors, our leadership of ELSA, and our commitment to whole-school wellbeing through the Charter Mark demonstrate our belief that sustainable change is achieved through relationships, collaboration and systemic working. Experts at Hand in Telford & Wrekin is shaping up to be a creative and evolving offer that places psychology directly within schools and communities. Within our broader service delivery model, EPs have opportunities to contribute to consultation, coaching, workforce development, organisational change, inclusion initiatives and innovative projects that support children and young people to thrive. Alongside our traded commissions, this will enable Telford & Wrekin EPs to continue to build upon established meaningful relationships with school staff, families and partner agencies, applying psychology proactively and systemically rather than solely through statutory processes. You will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team committed to promoting the wellbeing of staff and work-life balance, ongoing training and development, and practising in ways that are equitable, anti-racist, neuro-affirming and culturally responsive. We have strong links with local Doctoral training courses and are committed to supporting Trainee Educational Psychologists on placement. We would love to hear from candidates who relish applying psychology creatively in a range of settings and are committed to improving the educational and wellbeing outcomes for the children and young people in Telford & Wrekin. We welcome applications from both experienced Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists expecting to qualify in September 2026 and September 2027.

  • Be enthusiastic about contributing to the continued development of our innovative Experts at Hand offer and helping shape the future direction of Educational Psychology practice within the borough.
  • Demonstrate commitment to promoting inclusion through your work with children, families, schools and other professionals.
