What's the role

As a Machinist - Maintenance Turnaround and Construction, you will report administratively to the Maintenance Team Leader of shops. Your primary interfaces will be with the Maintenance Team Leader, MET, and Machine Shop Coordinator. You will be a member of the Maintenance Turnaround and Construction organization.

You will also be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assembly/Disassembly of mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, electric motors, etc.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments like micrometers and Vernier calipers.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering info to determine methods and sequences of operations.
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work.
  • Install repaired or new equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Communicate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical info.
  • Dismantle machines to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts.
  • Fit and assemble parts for machine repair or creation.
  • Prepare sketches to illustrate product appearance.

What we need from you

  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
  • Inside 1st Class Industrial Machinist with at least 10 years' experience.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting equipment is desirable.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to intervene with coworkers to ensure safety.
  • Ability to work with various technical disciplines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn new technology.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report repairs or needs for tools/materials.
  • Perform shop and equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

The pay rate is $49.56, with individual pay based on experience, education, and skills.
