Overview

Position Summary: Responsible for the set-up, calibration and operation of machines used in production processes.

Responsibilities

• Works from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.
• Inspects machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
• Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete routine tasks according to specifications.
• May make calculations and assist with numeric controlled programming.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Applies intermediate skills to complete a wide variety of tasks.
• Has substantial understanding of the job.
• Tasks are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving problems or in making recommendations.
• Solves basic problems.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly .
