Overview
Position Summary: Responsible for the set-up, calibration and operation of machines used in production processes.
Responsibilities
- Works from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.
- Inspects machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
- Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete routine tasks according to specifications.
- May make calculations and assist with numeric controlled programming.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Applies intermediate skills to complete a wide variety of tasks.
- Has substantial understanding of the job.
- Tasks are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving problems or in making recommendations.
- Solves basic problems.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly .
Supervisory Responsibilities
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in extremely oily and noisy environments.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and move around for up to 10 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds at a time.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb for up to 10 hours.
- May be exposed to chemicals, mist, and dust.
