NESFircroft continue to partner with a global OEM within power, transmission and distribution. We are actively sourcing for a Construction Manager to join a high profile HVDC project based in Greifswald Germany.
This role is a temporary contract position, initially for 15 months via AUG (Arbeitsnehmerüberlassung)
Role - HVDC Senior Site Manager/Construction Manager
Location - Greifswald, Germany - Site based position
- Due to the growth our HVDC client is seeking a HVDC Senior Site Manager/Senior Construction Manager for HVDC Converter stations within their Construction and Commissioning division
- This will lead activities at the onshore converter station near Greifswald, Germany.
- As the on-site representative you will serve as the primary contact for the customer and coordinate the site team as well as subcontractors responsible for civil and installation works.
- As the person responsible for site activities and their execution, you will play a key role in ensuring that work is carried out safely, with high quality, on schedule, and in a cost-effective manner.
This role is 100% site-based.
Your Responsibilities
- Coordinate the mobilization of site personnel in collaboration with internal departments and subcontractors, and plan site establishment and logistics.
2. Health & Safety
- Plan and coordinate all site activities in compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the preparation of work instructions and safety procedures. Review risk assessments and method statements.
3. Site Management
- Lead all site activities, including the management of civil and installation subcontractors, to ensure smooth and efficient execution of the project.
4. The Conductor
- Coordinate the on-site team consisting of experts from various disciplines, including Health & Safety, Quality Management, and discipline-specific site managers.
5. Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for the customer and lead construction and coordination meetings.
6. Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor quality, costs, and schedule during project execution and provide regular reports to project management.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to site activities and communicate them to project management.
8. Problem Solving
- Develop solutions to technical or logistical challenges that arise during project execution.
Experience required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of professional experience.
- Experience as a Site Manager/Construction Manager in substation projects or similar industries such as oil & gas, power generation, or high-voltage equipment installation is desirable.
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS) standards in accordance with international requirements. The ability to identify and stop unsafe work is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capability to provide clear and concise reporting.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
