PeopleCert is looking for a Localisation Associate who will be willing to relocate to Athens, Greece.

As a Localisation Associate, you will be responsible for managing the translation of all Business and IT products at PeopleCert from English into German. Each product's assets include the Official Book, Exams, and Official Training Materials. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of translation projects, ensuring all deliverables adhere to PeopleCert’s high-quality standards. You will handle tasks such as translating, editing, proofreading, sourcing, onboarding, and coordinating external translators (both individual freelancers and Language Service Providers) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Additionally, you will be responsible for streamlining processes to enhance productivity and ensure translation accuracy and consistency across all product lines.

In this role, you will be fully accountable and work closely with the Enterprise Project Manager, Localisation Lead, and other internal teams to ensure smooth project execution. You will also act as the key point of communication for feedback, proactively addressing and escalating issues when necessary, while maintaining close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

As a Localisation Associate, your tasks will include the following:

  • Project Setup and Management: Create, manage, and oversee translation projects within XTM TMS (Translation Management System), ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met while working closely with the Enterprise Project Manager.
  • AI Integration: Identify and implement AI tools (e.g., machine translation, language models) to improve workflow efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and maintain high-quality outputs.
  • Content Coordination: Oversee translation efforts for a variety of content types from English into German, ensuring consistency and quality across all products, while working closely with content teams.
  • Translation Memory Management: Perform file alignments, update and maintain translation memories, and prepare files for translation to ensure efficient use of resources and content reusability.
  • Supplier Management: Source, onboard, and manage external translators, Language Service Providers, and SMEs, building strong working relationships to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Provide clear and concise briefings to ensure suppliers understand project scope, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks on translated materials to ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical precision, while working closely with the Localisation Lead to uphold PeopleCert’s quality standards.
  • Feedback and Issue Resolution: Act as the central point of communication for feedback, proactively addressing issues and escalating them to the Localisation Lead and Enterprise Project Manager when needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ensure all administrative duties, including file management, reporting, and supplier communications, are handled accurately and on time, while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project workflows.

What we look for:

  • Language Proficiency: Native or equivalent fluency in German and English (LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be also a plus), with strong translation skills from English into German.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in a Language Service Provider (LSP) environment or a translation function, with a focus on managing translation or localization projects from English into German. Experience in the professional education sector is preferred.
  • Qualifications: A translator qualification or MSc in Translation Studies is desirable.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting time and budget requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAT tools, Machine Translation (MT), and TMS (experience with XTM is advantageous).
  • File Management: Experience in handling various file formats (MS Office, InDesign, etc.) with a solid understanding of file engineering within the context of localization.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to build successful relationships with external suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Self-Starter: Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders.

What we offer:

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Work in an international, dynamic, and fun atmosphere
  • Two free vouchers for all certifications from PeopleCert's Portfolio per year for all employees
  • Complimentary coffee and tea in all our premises
  • Huge learning experience in using best practices and a global environment
  • Constant personal and professional development
  • Relocation package
