Job summary

TRON Mainz is seeking a Scientist to join its Glyco-Immuno Analytics unit in Mainz. The role focuses on planning projects, developing serological assays (ELISA, Luminex), and analyzing data to support publications and grant proposals.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Glycobiology or related field with experience in immunological assays and molecular biology methods, and demonstrates strong teamwork and English communication skills. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• PhD in Glycobiology or a related field.
• Knowledge of immunological and serological assay techniques, particularly ELISA and Luminex-based platforms, is highly desirable.
• Experience in common molecular biology and protein biochemistry methods.
• Interest or experience in mass spectrometry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Planning and organization of projects (time planning, cost and budget planning, experimental design)
• Development, optimization and execution of serological assays (Luminex, ELISA) and cell-based in vitro assays; a willingness to work in the lab is favored
• Systematic research, analysis, and interpretation of data
• Reporting and preparation of publications
• Development and optimization of new methods and processes
• Writing of SOPs and process descriptions as well as their revision
• Coordination of Research Associates in the laboratory
• Present and discuss at internal meetings and international scientific conferences and contribute to the preparation of grant proposals and scientific publications

Scientist - Glyco-Immuno Analytics (m/f/d)

Full time - Mainz

We are looking for support in our Glyco-Immuno Analytics unit as soon as possible. As part of the Serologics department, we work closely together with the Serodiscovery unit. We are responsible for projects within TRON and with external collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Planning and organization of projects (time planning, cost and budget planning, experimental design)
• Development, optimization and execution of serological assays (Luminex, ELISA) and cell-based in vitro assays; a willingness to work in the lab is favored
• Systematic research, analysis, and interpretation of data

Requirements

• A PhD in Glycobiology or a related field and first relevant work experience
• Knowledge of immunological and serological assay techniques, particularly ELISA and Luminex-based platforms, is highly desirable.
• Experience in the use of common molecular biological and protein biochemical methods
• Interest or experience in mass spectrometry is a plus
• A structured, independent, and efficient way of working as well as a high level of commitment, flexibility, and ability to work in a team
