Description

General Summary

The Hot Tap Technician performs hot tapping services at various client industrial work sites with minimal shutdowns or service interruptions.

Essential Job Functions

1. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices, and legal regulations, alerting others to potential hazards.
2. Performs all assigned duties and adheres to TEAM's Core Values.
3. Provides on-site Hot Tapping and Line Stop services, including:
1. Creating safe entry into pipes or vessels under pressure or vacuum
2. Hot taps and conventional line stops
3. Hot stops, Hi-Stops, Super Hi-Stops, Double Line Stops
4. 45 Degree angle taps, Tee stops, elbow stops
5. Across-the-line stops, through the line valve stops, freeze stops
4. Identifies situations requiring safety procedures and equipment.
5. Documents all hot tapping activities as required.
6. Maintains hot tapping tools and equipment.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training is a plus.
• Two years of industry-related experience preferred.
• Current HAZPOWER training certificate preferred.
• Travel requirements: 0% - 25%

Work Conditions

• Position based at a branch or site location.
• Indoor and outdoor work in a plant environment.
• Interaction with crew, supervisors, and clients.
• Work around machinery with high noise levels.
• Must wear safety equipment as required.
• May work at multiple sites in a day and tolerate climate changes.
• Periodic travel out of town.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Walk, climb, and perform manual tasks.
• Effective communication skills.
• Sufficient vision and observation abilities.
• Mobility to access various environments and platforms.
• Ability to focus and multitask effectively.
