Legal Expert Human Resources - German employment law (m/f/d), Walldorf
Be a driving force behind Fioneer's growth strategy as an internal consultant for our HR team within the crucial topic of employment law in Germany. We have ambitious plans and need to take bold decisions. Taking informed decisions is key to our success. Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and ambitious colleague that will drive the topic of employment law within our HR department. In this role, you will be part of Fioneer's HR team.
Job Description:
- Actively advising the HR team on all topics concerning employment law
- Drafting, reviewing, and updating employment contracts, amendments, and legal templates
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in German employment law and ensuring implementation within the company
- Being the go-to person for colleagues and management concerning employment law topics
- Providing support throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to off-boarding, including facilitating respectful separation processes such as negotiating termination or settlement agreements, preparing dismissals, and participating in conciliation hearings
- Serving as a liaison with in-house Legal and external legal lawyers on complex cases
- Actively participating in HR projects (compliance, policy development, digitalization)
Requirements:
- Successfully completed a university degree in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Business Law, or a related field, with practical application of employment law within an HR department or at a law firm/office
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience working in the field of employment law in Germany
- Strong knowledge of German labor law and its application in day-to-day HR practice
- Experience in HR/labour law in other European countries is a plus
- Willingness to travel within Germany
- Experience in a consultancy or fast-growing startup is a plus
- Professional, empathetic, and solution-oriented communication style, especially when handling sensitive HR issues
- Independent and structured working style with high discretion and reliability, capable of managing multiple tasks in turbulent times
- Fluent in German and English
- Experience with SuccessFactors is a plus
