The Legal Department is looking for a legal counsel for a 50-100% position, to support the team on regulatory compliance topics, including: legal research and analysis on various regulatory topics, in particular new and upcoming legislation and governmental policies, in EMEA, APAC and the US; drafting of legal memos, policies and guidelines for the company, in alignment with the relevant company departments and the General Counsel; training of respective stakeholders; and, depending on availability, support on the review of contracts and other legal documents.

You can work from our Berlin, Chemnitz or Hanover office or from home anywhere in Germany.

Your Responsibilities

• Legal Research
• Global and local Laws and regulations analysis
• Drafting, reviewing and implementing of internal memos, policies and guidelines for the company
• Collaboration and alignment with respective stakeholders
• Provision of legal advice to company stakeholders in regulatory and compliance matters
• Draft concise guidelines and analysis documents for internal use of the company
• Provide replies and/or analysis documents on various regulatory and compliance matters
• Liaison with authorities and government agencies, institutes and bodies and participation in relevant forums and programs in collaboration with legal team/GC
• In addition to these core functions, depending on availability, may be assigned work in other legal domains mainly support in contracts review and negotiation

Your Skills and Experience

• Master's degree in law; bar exam would be a plus.
• 1-4 years of experience as a lawyer, preferably in a legal department of an international company or reputable law firm
• Perfect Professional fluency in English, verbal and written, including demonstrate drafting skills is a must. Work shall require research, drafting, consulting and presenting in English.
• Experience in legal drafting and legal research in several of the following fields on an EU basis is a must:
• Anti-Bribery. FCPA, UKBA, EU Whistleblower Directive
• Trade & Sanctions. EU Dual-Use, EAR, OFAC
• Product & Market Access: CE, RED, CRA, RoHS, REACH
• Cybersecurity & IT: ISO 27001, CRA, NIS2
• Data & Information: GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS2
• Ability to work well autonomously and in teams
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, Sharepoint, Teams

Bonus

• Strong written and spoken command of German would be a plus
• Command of other EU language or Chinese would be a plus
• Experience in the above fields on a global basis is a strong plus.
• Experience in the following field would be a plus: global Sales and Technology Contracts review.
