For our Berlin Mitte office, we are looking for a Legal Counsel Company Secretary (m/f/d).
- Provide legal advice under German law regarding Company Secretariat, including corporate law and regulatory requirements for management and supervisory bodies.
- Review and advise on ECB expectations regarding governance and regulatory liaison, and establish necessary infrastructure for ECB office.
- Analyze and advise on relevant German/EU regulatory matters.
- Liaise with external counsel as needed.
- Advise on Civil Law and Banking Supervisory Law.
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting the bank.
- Identify regulatory developments and inform stakeholders.
- Raise awareness on regulatory risks and develop training.
Project / Change Management
- Lead projects and legal workstreams independently.
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate with colleagues up to Management Board level.
Manage, Coordinate, and Develop
- Advise and coordinate with business departments.
- Explain controls and results to colleagues.
- Promote behavioral change where necessary.
- Implement policies and controls for medium to high-risk exposures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 1st and 2nd Legal State Examination or equivalent.
- Several years of relevant experience in an international law firm or in-house legal department within banking.
- Solid knowledge of banking and finance law and regulations.
- Experience with ECB requirements for Regulatory Liaison and Company Secretariat.
- Ability to analyze complex information and support decision-making.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and business principles.
- Strong communication skills in German and English.
