GAF Geospatial GmbH in Munich seeks an in-house Legal Counsel (Commercial, Contract & Procurement) to advise management, negotiate contracts in German and English, and drive compliance. You will develop templates and support governance across international activities.

The role requires a law degree, strong analytical skills, fluent German and English (C1), and experience in international business or law firms.

Qualifications

• Completed legal degree, ideally with First or Second State Examination, or a degree in commercial law.
• Fluency in German and English (C1) for written and spoken communication.
• First relevant professional experience in international company or law firm is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and ideally public procurement law.
• Structured and independent working style with the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an interdisciplinary and international setting.

Legal Counsel – Commercial, Contract & Procurement Law

In this role, you will provide legal advice to management and specialist departments, support contract negotiations and procurement-related matters, and contribute to the further development of legal templates, internal processes, and compliance-related standards.

Your responsibilities:

• Negotiate and draft contractsin German and English, assess legal risks, and provide practical solutions in commercial and procurement matters
• Advise management and business teamson day to day legal questions and prepare clear legal assessments to support decision making
• Serve as a key legal contactfor internal stakeholders in national and international business activities

Your profile:

• Completed legal degree, ideally with First or Second State Examination, or a degree in commercial law
• First relevant professional experience in the legal department of an international company or in a business law firm is an advantage
• Well-qualified early-career candidates with a strong interest in in-house legal work are also welcome
• Good knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and ideally public procurement law
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex legal matters in a clear and understandable way
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and sound legal judgment
• Fluency in spoken and written German and English (min. level C1, CEFR)
• Structured and independent working style, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an interdisciplinary and international setting

Desirable background:

• Experience with public procurement law or regulated tender environments
• Exposure to intellectual property topics or compliance-related matters
• Experience in an international, project-based, or technology-driven business environment
• Additional language skills, especially French, Italian and/or Spanish
