About the role

As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting Riverty’s business and the entire company in various legal matters. The Riverty legal community consists of over 25 lawyers with whom you will regularly interact. Your daily work will also involve close contact with functions such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations. Riverty’s organizational culture is international and low-hierarchical, emphasizing cooperation and open communication, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You will join our team of lawyers from Germany, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands and report to our General Counsel for Invoicing & Payment. Your primary responsibility will be to support our business in Germany, a critical role for our operations in these regions.

What will be your challenges:

In this role, you will be involved in drafting and reviewing client contracts, supplier agreements, and other relevant internal and external contracts. Your daily tasks will include:

• Providing legal support and advice on various topics, especially in consumer law, business law, and contract law
• Supporting internal stakeholders and acting as a sparring partner to the international Legal team
• Advising the organization on potential legal impacts of legislative changes or business model adjustments
• Representing the organization in matters involving supervisory authorities

What will help you succeed in the role:

• An academic Master’s degree in law with 2-4 years of practical experience with German law
• Experience in German financial topics and contract drafting in German
• Excellent communication, legal advisory skills, and a commercial mindset
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Goal-oriented and result-driven with a risk-based approach
• Fluent in German and English
