AVATR Global Design Center is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our Munich-based legal team. In this role, you will support the Legal Manager in overseeing and executing the company’s legal and compliance functions, with particular emphasis on commercial law, data protection, intellectual property (IP) rights, and internal audit and risk control. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal expertise combined with practical, business-oriented judgment to effectively manage legal risks while enabling operational goals.

What you will do:

• Commercial Law
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, purchasing, service, licensing, and distribution contracts.
• Ensure contractual terms are aligned with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk exposure thresholds.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and standard legal documentation to improve efficiency and compliance.

• Data Protection & Intellectual Property
• Advise on data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, and support implementation of relevant compliance procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct data privacy impact assessments and ensure best practices in data handling.
• Support the registration, protection, and enforcement of IP rights (trademarks, copyrights, patents) and manage external counsel relationships where applicable.

• Risk Management & Internal Audit and Controls
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments (EU and German law) and evaluate their impact on the company’s operations.
• Assist in drafting and updating internal policies and procedures related to compliance, ethics, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption.
• Support internal audits and investigations by identifying potential legal risks and evaluating internal control systems.
• Facilitate cross-functional cooperation in implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  

What you will bring:

• Education: Qualified lawyer with a law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice law in Germany or equivalent jurisdiction.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a corporate legal department or reputable law firm, with demonstrated experience in contract law, data protection, and compliance.
• Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of German and European commercial law, GDPR, IP rights management, and corporate compliance frameworks.
• Languages: Native or fluent in German and English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Chinese is a strong advantage.
• Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
