Qualifikationen

• Mindestens 2-3 Jahre relevante Erfahrung in einer Kanzlei oder in einem internen Rechtsteam.
• Gute Kenntnisse im internationalen Seekaufrecht und Handelsrecht; Erfahrung mit BIMCO-Verträgen von Vorteil.
• Fließend in Deutsch und Englisch, sowohl schriftlich als auch mündlich.

Aufgaben

• Entwurf, Prüfung und Verhandlung verschiedener Verträge, einschließlich maritimer Verträge.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von Gesetzen und Vorschriften in allen Geschäftsaktivitäten.
• Vertretung der juristischen Interessen der Harren Gruppe in Verhandlungen.

Founded in Bremen in 1989, the Harren Group focuses on the entire value chain around the vessel. The Group spans five operational divisions – Chartering, Engineering, Logistics, Ship Management and Renewable Energies. The fleet under management currently consists of 70 units all key vessel types. The family-owned company operates 26 offices in 24 countries around the world, employing around 600 people ashore and more than 2,000 crew members on board its ships.

For our office in Hamburg we are looking for a Legal Counsel (m/f/d).

As Legal Counsel at Harren Group, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our international shipping, transport, and logistics operations. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will draft and review a broad range of contracts while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including but not limited to:
  • Marine contracts (e.g. time charter parties, voyage charter parties, contracts of affreightment)
  • Freight forwarding and project logistic agreements
  • Service, supply and procurement contracts
  • Cooperation agreements with international stakeholders
• Provide legal guidance on procurement, trademark, and IT law topics
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across all business activities
• Represent the Harren Group's legal interests in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners
• Support in legal dispute resolution, including coordination with external lawyers
• Oversee contract management and documentation processes
• Fully qualified German lawyer (“Volljurist”) preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, ideally in the maritime or logistics industry
• Solid knowledge of international maritime and commercial law; experience with BIMCO contracts is a plus
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
• Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
• Self-driven, structured, and detail-oriented working style – even under pressure
• Team player with a flexible and motivated mindset
