e-Storage is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its legal team to support its rapidly growing utility-scale energy storage business unit. The Legal Counsel will focus on project contracts—including EPC agreements, equipment supply contracts, BESS integrator contracts, long-term service agreements, warranties, and performance guarantees—and other legal matters. The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, capable of providing sound legal advice, exercising good business judgment, and working effectively with senior management, outside counsel, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice on construction, corporate, and commercial law matters supporting the energy storage business in EMEA.
  2. Negotiate and draft EPC agreements, supply agreements, subcontractor agreements, long-term service agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, warranties, and performance guarantees.
  3. Assist with project management and execution, including drafting legal notices, change orders, interpreting contract language, and providing strategic advice.
  4. Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.
  5. Coordinate with outside counsel to balance legal costs with business objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Strong academic credentials and licensed to practice law in Germany.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and infrastructure contracts at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
  3. Experience in the energy industry, preferably in renewable energy or energy storage, is preferred.
  4. Proven ability to lead negotiations of complex commercial contracts.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively within a dynamic team.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with significant responsibility.
  7. Strong project management, organizational, research, and analytical skills.
  8. Extensive drafting and negotiation experience.
  9. Estimated travel requirement: 5-15%.
