Legal Advisor (f/m/d)

Our client is a fast-growing company in the environmental commodities and sustainability advisory space is seeking a Legal Advisor to support its international operations. This role will focus on ensuring compliance across business activities, particularly within the D/A/CH region, while supporting the structuring and negotiation of commercial agreements. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to climate action and business growth through legal expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including sales and purchase agreements, brokerage contracts, NDAs, and service-level agreements—with a primary focus on German-speaking markets.
  • Advise internal teams on a variety of legal topics, including compliance, data protection (GDPR), employment law, and corporate legal matters.
  • Ensure the organization remains up to date with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy and climate commodity markets.
  • Collaborate with commercial and operational departments to structure transactions and ensure the efficient execution of deals.
  • Represent the organization in legal negotiations with external partners, balancing risk while maintaining strong client relationships.

Your Profile

  • Holds a legal qualification and brings a minimum of 2 years' full-time experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts—preferably within the renewable energy or sustainability sector.
  • Native or business-level fluency in both German and English is required. Proficiency in additional European languages (especially Spanish) is considered a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of contract and commercial law, with additional expertise in data protection law (e.g., GDPR) being an advantage.
  • Familiarity with environmental markets and associated instruments—such as Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), Biomethane, and Carbon Credits—is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously, balancing accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident in evaluating legal risks while aligning decisions with broader business priorities.
