Marcus Webb Associates Limited in Hamm, Germany, is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer – Hydraulics & Controls for onsite work. You will act as a senior technical authority for hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic controls that underpin excavator and wheel loader platforms, shaping future platform design and performance.
The role demands extensive hydraulics experience in construction machinery, deep knowledge of architecture and control strategies, and collaboration with Europe/Asia teams.
Location: Germany – Hamm area (onsite only) Salary: €95,000 – €115,000 + benefits (negotiable)
Extensive Excavator or Wheeled Loader Machine experience is essential. You will be a technical authority for hydraulics systems development optimisation and future platform design working closely with local engineering teams and the wider global R&D organisation.
This position sits within an established and growing construction machinery OEM and provides the opportunity to influence the design of future Excavator / Wheeled loader machine platforms.
As a Lead Systems Engineer – Hydraulics & Controls, you will act as a senior technical authority for the hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic controls that underpin the performance of next-generation excavator and/or wheel loader platforms.
Your focus will be on hydraulic system architecture, machine behaviour, control strategy, optimisation and performance, working across engineering teams in Europe and Asia to develop high-performing, efficient and robust hydraulic systems for off-highway construction machinery.
You will be required to travel internationally, occasionally to China, to work with the wider engineering organisation and support prototype development, testing and technical reviews. Typically, this is expected to involve several trips per year, depending on project requirements.
This role is based onsite in the Hamm area and is commutable from cities such as Dortmund, Münster, Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bielefeld, Bochum, Duisburg, Wuppertal, and Bonn.
