Jobbeschreibung

Senior Field Solutions Engineer – Industrial Robotics

Working Model: Primarily on customer sites with regular travel

Travel: Approximately 50–60% across Germany

About the Opportunity

Our client is an innovative automation company developing intelligent robotic solutions that help manufacturers improve productivity, flexibility, and efficiency. Their technology combines advanced robotics, industrial automation, and modern software to deliver scalable automation systems for production environments.

As a Senior Field Solutions Engineer, you'll be responsible for taking automation projects from installation through to successful production handover. Working directly at customer sites, you'll integrate robotic and automation solutions into existing manufacturing facilities, ensuring reliable operation within complex production environments.

This is a highly practical engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working closely with customers, and seeing projects through from deployment to live production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and commission robotic and industrial automation systems at customer facilities.
  • Integrate new automation equipment into existing manufacturing lines and production environments.
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems during commissioning.
  • Connect robotic systems with customer machinery, PLCs, and factory control infrastructure.
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and machine interfaces.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control cabinet documentation.
  • Support electrical planning activities for customer-specific automation projects.
  • Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, controls, and software-related issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Perform system testing to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Adapt automation solutions to suit different manufacturing processes and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with software, robotics, applications, and project engineering teams throughout project delivery.
  • Deliver operator and maintenance training following successful system deployment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation covering commissioning activities, configuration changes, and technical improvements.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers during installation and production ramp-up.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience delivering automation projects in live manufacturing environments and be comfortable working directly on customer sites.

You’ll likely have experience with:

  • Commissioning industrial automation or robotic systems.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting within manufacturing environments.
  • Integrating machinery into existing production lines and factory automation systems.
  • Electrical design, electrical planning, or modifying electrical schematics.
  • Connecting machines, robotic cells, or automation equipment to customer PLC architectures.
  • Industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex commissioning and integration issues.
  • Delivering automation projects from installation through commissioning to production handover.
  • Understanding complete production systems rather than individual machines in isolation.
Technical Background

Applicants should ideally have:

  • A qualification in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in industrial automation, systems integration, machine building, robotics, or commissioning.
  • Practical PLC programming or modification experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, sensors, actuators, safety circuits, and control components.
  • The ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with industrial communication networks and machine-to-machine communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands‑on approach.
  • Excellent customer communication skills and the ability to work independently on‑site.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Germany.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • German is highly advantageous but not essential for candidates with exceptional technical expertise.

Engineers who have successfully integrated new machinery, robotic systems, or automation equipment into existing production environments will be particularly well suited to this role.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Work on technically challenging industrial automation and robotics projects.
  • Play a key role in deploying advanced automation solutions into live manufacturing facilities.
  • Join a business at the forefront of intelligent factory automation.
  • Enjoy a varied role combining customer interaction, hands‑on engineering, and complex technical problem‑solving.
  • Be part of an experienced engineering team delivering innovative automation solutions across Germany.
