The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Mechanical Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer with a track record on major, high-value construction builds?

We are currently partnering with a premier engineering and construction organization delivering complex, large-scale projects across Europe.

Based on site in Düsseldorf, this senior leadership position takes full operational ownership of mechanical works—driving site operations, subcontractor progress, mechanical QA/QC, health & safety, and commercial alignment from initial delivery right through to final commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Leadership & Operations: Drive day-to-day mechanical site progress, coordinate multi-trade interfaces, and chair regular subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Programme & Progress Tracking: Track baseline schedules against WBS codes, prepare weekly progress reports for project leadership, and implement proactive mitigations to protect delivery deadlines.
• Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Establish and close out the mechanical QA file, oversee snagging/punch lists, and ensure all installations align strictly with drawings and specs.
• Commercial & Cost Management: Oversee mechanical labor, plant, material, and variation costs in close partnership with the commercial team to protect project yields.
• Safety & Project Close-Out: Champion site safety standards, oversee safety file compilations, and ensure smooth delivery of O&M manuals and project handovers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Background: Mechanical trade background paired with a relevant third-level qualification (Degree/Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer managing complex mechanical packages on major construction sites.
• Software & Tools: Proficient with MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Office, and digital project management software systems.
• High-Tech Exposure: Prior exposure to complex environments (e.g., Data Centres, Life Sciences, Advanced Tech, or Mission Critical) is highly advantageous.
• Commercial Awareness: Proven ability to spot variations, manage site costs, and control change management workflows effectively.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel as project milestones and business demands evolve.
