Description

The CB Leveraged Finance (LF) team within TF&L-Lending is responsible for the product-driven Leveraged Lending (LL) business within CB. The team focuses on DACH and select countries within EMEA. LF originates and structures cash-flow based (acquisition) financing used for mergers and acquisitions, private equity-led buyouts, recapitalizations, and other financing for entities mostly owned or controlled by private equity, including refinancing.

Your key responsibilities

  1. Origination and arrangement of debt financing in leveraged buyouts and complex leveraged lending.
  2. Structuring, execution, and leading deals on Leveraged Buy-Out (LBO) lending transactions, recapitalizations, and add-on acquisitions, along with other risk-driven portfolio activities (amendments, waivers, structural adjustments).
  3. Portfolio and risk ownership of CB's LBO lending portfolio, including regulatory and risk monitoring, and providing advisory and governance for corporate clients classified as product-driven or corporate LL within CB.
  4. Making 1st Line of Defence (LoD) credit decisions and preparing credit analysis based on due diligence reports, management presentations, financials, business plans, and enterprise valuation, collaborating with the 2nd LoD for decisions.
  5. Negotiating financing documentation in coordination with legal counsel.
  6. Market coverage in cooperation with Sponsor Coverage of the European Financial Sponsor environment in relevant jurisdictions.
  7. Collaborating with other structuring units within Deutsche Bank dealing with Financial Sponsors and CB structuring teams to ensure profitable lending growth.

Your skills and experiences

  1. Strong quantitative, numerical, and analytical skills; structuring, risk management, and M&A experience preferred.
  2. Creative problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.
  3. Excellent communication, presentation skills, and high self-motivation.
  4. Investment banking and credit experience; leveraged finance or risk management preferred.
  5. Commitment to integrity, professionalism, teamwork, proactive working, and solutions orientation.
  6. Willingness to travel occasionally within Western Europe.
  7. Business fluency in German and English.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
