We are looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in Search and NLP to join our founding team in Palo Alto. This role will focus on building highly scalable Search infrastructure to enable efficient NLU and Insights functions on a versatile legal knowledge base. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with data from Fortune 500 companies' legal and risk departments, developing secure, enterprise-grade software using the latest Generative AI technologies.
The role involves creating cloud-agnostic solutions, maintaining security and compliance standards, and building scalable, resilient platforms for enterprise applications, data, AI, and search. You will also collaborate with top legal, risk, business, technology, AI professionals, and engineers to innovate and address complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Architecting and implementing complex solutions for critical Search infrastructure components, including data pipelines, indexing systems, query processing, and distributed computing systems.
System Ownership: Taking full ownership of significant parts of the Search infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to align on technical roadmaps and deliver solutions.
Performance Optimization: Identifying and resolving bottlenecks, optimizing code for efficiency and low latency.
Innovation and Development: Researching and implementing innovative technologies, algorithms, and design patterns to evolve Search infrastructure.
Mentorship and Coaching: Guiding junior engineers on best practices, code quality, and problem-solving.
